80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

That's too broad of a question. That is why it can not be answered. Rather, the question you should ask, is "What is the meaning of my life?"

From there you should find an answer. The best way to come to this answer is the meditate on the question. Some guides I can offer are, what makes you happy? What can you do to better society? What is your passion? What do you see as your purpose?

Many people waste their lives on the question, "what is the meaning of life?" Because it's arbitrary. It depends on the individual and how they are suppose to live their lives. We all have different reasons, different meanings, different purposes. You just have to find it, and go with it. Nothing is easy, everything has a level of difficulty. But as long as you know who you are well, and you love yourself, then nothing will bring you down. You will be strong, meaningful, and working the course of your purpose.

Hello. In my opinion the meaning of life has no one answer. It really depends on who you ask. Like if you asked a very religeous person they might say," The meaning of life is to live and serve the lord." But if you asked a business man or woman he/she might say," To buy and sell quick. That's the meaning of life." So think to yourself, what IS the meaning of life. I have written a book called Our Life. A quote from it is," The realm of Difference is where all thinkers of the question go. There they find not an answer but a void." Then it says that they find no answer but try to learn the answer for all time. It means that this answer to the meaning of life is so diverse that no one person can give it. I hope this wasn't a pain reading but it is my answer.

"What is the meaning of life?" Why are we here? That is the eternal question that plague so many people, and the fact is that no one definition can cover everyone. It's up to each and every person to come up with that particular answer for themselves. For some people the meaning of life may be to raise a happy and healthy family. Another person may dedicate their life to researching a cure for cancer. To find meaning in your life, a purpose if you will, you really need to know yourself, and what drives you. What makes you get up in the morning? What excites you? Truly explore yourself, and others to find a meaning in your life.

This is the question that humanity has tried to solve for as long as civilization has existed. Some people believe that meaning of life is to discover the meaning of life. Some people believe that the meaning of life is to live life to the fullest and not care about what life means. Some people believe that the meaning of life is to become as wealthy or as famous as possible. The meaning of life may be different for different people. I personally believe that meaning of life is to be happy, and the way I find happiness is through love- both love I give to others and the love that they give me; love for my family, and love for and from my boyfriend, my soulmate, and hopefully my future husband.

If we knew then we wouldn't have to live it. It is a matter of constantly searching and trying to find our place in it.
