It can be fixed but the mechanic is a smart man because he knows Peugeots and all Euro car are nightmares to work on and he's smart, he wants nothing to do with them and neither should you.

I have 5 Peugeot 205's and 3 of them are driven daily. (1984, 86, 90, 91, 93) None of them has this "buzzer feature". The earlier model 305 had it as a standard feature.
You can buy a little buzzer at the car parts store. Less than 3 pounds, I'd guess. This little buzzer has a red wire and a blue wire. You follow the directions, putting the wires into the fuse box. Stick each wire into the same slot as the fuse.
One wire goes into a fuse that is always "ON" without the key, and the other wire goes into the "Lights" fuse.
When you turn the ignition off, and forget to turn off your lights, the buzzer sounds. It has nothing to do with your door.
I bought my buzzer at a big department store , MAKRO, in the automotive section.
Tell your local garage mechanic and make him feel "uninformed".

You will need a buzzer and a relay, the relay is fed from the door switch that turns the interior lights on and is switched by the headlight circuit so that it only operates when BOTH the door is open and the lights are turned on.

I don't know what planet your garage man is on but he is wrong and the others who have answered your question aren't much better
It is just a buzzer wired into the lighting circuit.
Buy it in Halfords for about a fiver and follow the instructions.

The man is right
A buzzer which only sounds when doors open if lights on and ignition off
You need one buzzer and 2 simple relays -some wire and lots of patience
We run a mile if anyone mentions French electrics

it somewhat is in many circumstances an indicator that one among your gentle bulbs on the area it fairly is flashing swifter is burned out. turn on your sign and consider to confirm the two the front and rear sign lights are flashing. replace the perfect one and it is going to bypass returned to flashing on the traditional fee.
