"1-Methylbutane" is CH3-CH2CH2CH2CH3, which is actually pentane.

Glycine and alanine could go together two ways if you heat them up and split out water. One is that the -COOH of glycine forms an amide bond with the -NH2 of alanine, or vice versa.

H2N-CH2-COOH + H2N-CH(CH3)-COOH ===>
H2N-CH2-CONH-CH(CH3)-COOH
+ H2N-CH(CH3)-CONH-CH2-COOH + H2O

The one is called glycylalanine, the other alanylglycine.
