Don't worry about it. Just do what everyone else is doing. If you have a date, slow dance as much as possible. Everyone will be having fun (including you) and won't care how you are dancing.

Just don't immitate any "Saturday Night Fever" moves.

Enjoy.

It's too late for lessons now, so what I'd do is get your Mother to teach you how to slow dance, it's usually so crowed that no one will notice how your doing, it's mainly just shuffling around. If your a guy they don't usually do the other stuff so don't worry, if your a girl say that your foots hurting or something and can only slow dance, (a little lie at this stage won't hurt) If your a fast learner maybe someone can teach you the basics tonight. Don't spend your night worrying about it, just go and have a good time, everyone will be worrying about themselves and worrying about how they will do and how they look believe me they won't have time to pay attention to you because they'll be busy worrying about what people think of them. Remember everyone else is in the same boat this is the first time for many of them, and they all feel self conscious and insecure.

Honestly,

The best thing you can do is just have fun. On my prom night no one was worried about who could dance. Stop being self conscience and just release your ideas of what the people around you think. I can guarantee you that everyone is going to be ready to show off tomorrow night. On nights like prom people just want to have good time, so what if you look like Screech having a heart attack, people will probably enjoy it, but if you're still self conscience just move from side to side and bounce to the beat.

It's Prom not Dancing with the Stars. You won't be alone in your dancing woes. Easy tips.

Slow songs
1. Don't be nervous, stay loose, and have fun
2. Stay close
3. Eye Contact

Faster songs
1. Let your partner do the work and move along
2. Don't get out of control

In case of Country music (I hope not, but my redneck life has included it at times)
Two-step
Hand on hip and other hand clasped with partners
Two steps left or right (depending on lead hand) one step back quarter turn repeat Vary as wanted
