Blunted, almost rust-colored red pumps with peep-toes. Very chic. The color schemes match. Would look fabulous with garnet earings, dangling ones since its a halter...no necklace.

Well if you really want to match, gold sandals of flats is the obvious choice.
Doing black shoes with a metallic material isn't usually the best route to go. My suggestion is to find some fabulous red shoes. Flats of heels would be up to you depending on how long the dress is, but the red shoes would really add a little something to a beautiful colour like gold.

Definitely go for black or white heels depending on what shade of gold the dress is, unless you can find shoes that are the exact same color of the dress.

Delicate gold sandals with very thin straps and a small narrow heel would be perfect - maybe with some beading on the straps or a strap that ties around the ankle! Sounds like a beautiful dress!

I wear cute black heels with my long gold dress. I couldn't find comfortable gold ones, and I really didn't want to get shoes that I couldn't wear with anything else. As the dress is very long, your shoes aren't very visible anyway, and black does match well. So try black as it is easier to find cute black shoes that are comfortable, and the right height.

Black shoes with a gold dress is a little 80's.

I would do gold strappy sandals.

If you do black, I would make it a very strappy shoe. I think that having a lot of black would detract from the dress. Other than black I would do a metallic shoe. I like these:

black is always a go go

silver is very stylish and if you are a looker then yeah gold and silver can do it but very hard on you if you dont suit it in a classy way

white is perfect but a bit too plain

I guess its a ligher gold pair or a black one with some glamorous extras on the shoes, like a gold bow or something to that effect

i would say a sandal that is tan or a neutral skin color. otherwise black, even though it is summer, i think black will look nicer than white. but the light tan would be best. it depends on how dressy but you could do a simple flat sandal or a heel/strappy kind. sounds cute. see examples below.
