Report them to social services straight away. They have to have a license to operate and it can be revoked they are really bad.

The correct approach is to report it first of all to the home Manager. The chances are that it happened in her/his absence. If the manager does nothing about it report it to Social Services. All Nursing and Residential homes in the UK by law have to display somewhere on the premises details of their governing body and who to get in touch with when there is an incident or complaint. If the gentlemans family can't find this information on display they are within their rights to ask for it.I'm sure the Home Manager will be shocked when told of the incident and has the power to dismiss the culprit(s) immediately.

report this to the manager...if nothing is done then you can request the name and contact number of what is called the area operations manager.again if nothing is done there is another contact you can go to they are called cisci these people go around the homes making sure everything is in working order and things are up to date.there number and address is in the yellow pages etc....the elderly should not be treated like this and deserve alot better than what alot of them are getting.the amount they pay to be looked after is disgusting...they work all their life to be put into a place that costs an arm and a leg and dont get the care they should.....
good luck i hope you get the help you need

I'm sure the UK regulates nursing homes as the US does, therefor this should be reported immediately. Get the families of other residents to do the same. Unfortunately, I've heard bad things about nursing homes in general. They need to offer better pay and incentives to attract better employees. I don't know if you can afford a better home, maybe there's government assistance to keep your friends mother at home. Best wishes to you.

All nursing homes are the same. What the deal is is that nursing assistants have the most contact with the patient and alot harder job than the nurse but the nurse gets the better pay

it sounds like you are in the UK, and I don't know what laws pertain to your nursing homes. In the united states we have government departments that can close down a nursing home for poor care.

Complain to the manager and make sure that these people are properly looked after in a dignified manner, we will all be old one day!

Report it to the Nusing home management or your local member of parliament or ombudsman. It's wrong. We don't choose to get old and incontinent - it just happens. It should happen with dignity.
Please make sure your friend does something.
