Dog Beach which is located directly north of Ocean Beach where the San Diego river drains. Fiesta Island is another place but that doesn't really seem to count as a beach. There is also a little stretch between Del Mar and Solana Beach where the San Dieguito river drains. Enjoy!

Take your dog to "Dog Beach" in Del Mar. There is also a "Dog Beach" in Ocean Beach, but I prefer Del Mar. It's so much fun for the owner and the dog. But if you go to the beach without your pup, I think the best beach is Coronado.

Dog Beach is the most well known beach and Fiesta Island for taking your dogs but I would not consider them beaches" COronada is by far the nicest beach and yes, you can take your dog. You have to go to the far end towards the gate of the base and the grassy park but you can use that access to the beach if you have dogs.

As far as I know there are only two beaches where you are allowed to actually bring your dog onto the beach (sand & water)... One is Dog Beach, directly North of Ocean Beach by the Jetti. The other is in Del Mar on the very West end of Jimmy Durante Blvd.
After that you have to go way north to the camp grounds...

Yes, Coronado and LaJolla Cove are both beautiful! Not sure if dogs are allowed at either though. I know they are at "dog beach" in Ocean Beach, and Fido will enjoy being around the other dogs. Have fun. ☺

In most beaches you can only take a dog before 9 and after 6!! :( You could try Ocean Beach, they're pretty relaxed over there.

Lots of beaches are cool. My personal favorites are Pacific Beach (known as PB to locals), Mission Beach (right next door to PB), and La Jolla Shores (much nicer and cleaner).
Make sure that your dog doesn't do his business near the shoreline.

Really hard to find a beach that allows dogs now days. It would really have to be remote.
