You may have internal transmission problems. Trans axles are not exactly what I would call "D-I-Y" friendly. They are full of iddy-biddy needle bearings that are a snap to loose, and are tough to put back correctly! As bad as I hate to say this, call the man who knows how to fix this!

Are you tryintg to shift it with the engine running or off? Will it shift into the other gears? When in gear does the machine move? Are you sure there isn't something stoping the lever from going into reverse?

have you looked under the cutting deck lately?? most people never clean the under neath and it just gets clogged with grass and dirt until the blade can't turn anymore!!!

your transmission is probaly froze up to fix it you could probaly purchase a new one for about the same price
