I have an ex gf who was very sick with cancer and i have not heard from her in 2 years. Its not like her to not call me because we stayed friends after we broke up about 5 yrs ago. I am just wondering how to find out if somoene passed away so i can know if she is ok.

You can go to her town's newspaper online and search the obituaries. You can also go to the library and ask your librarian to help you look through the microfilm of her town's newspaper.

If you think she would have received Social Security benefits, you can check the Social Security Death Index (SSDI) online at www.rootsweb.org.

Depending on where you live. In Australia we have a registry called "births deaths and marriages" where we can find stuff like that.

Perhaps try getting in touch with someone that might know her or friends of friends of hers, etc.

Another way is a library for the death notices, again, if your area does that.

This may sound insensitive but I had to do this once myself. After not hearing from my freind, in this case another guy, for more than ayear, I called his last known phone number. When someone answered, I asked if I coudl talk to So and So.

In my case I found out my freind had indeed survived but was not in the mood for talking.

Google her name..if it was printed in an newspaper it will be somewhere on the internet. I believe you can look up death certificates for a fee as well

put her name into google....maybe you will find an obituary or story.
