Why do urban Black men bother me?

I hate getting hit on, approached, stared at by *most* Black American men...I hate urban culture and find it very annoying. I do like suburban, professional types of all races, but I do find that I get the most aggressive attention from urban males, specifically Black males. Am I the only person that gets annoyed at this behavior and what can I do to appear more approachable to them? I definitely don't dress hoochie...I'm a professional myself...and yes, I am generally nice, but I HATE IT!

I know what you mean, It is more disrespectful than anything, but NOT ALL Black men are like that. It depends on were you go. I went to a black college and the black men I knew were very respectful. And many were from urban areas. I'm from the country but I didn't experience this type of behaviour until I moved to the city, but again if you were to ever go to a predominately black college you might experience something different.

Besides I get hit on mostly by white dudes, and educated dudes of other races. Most black guys didn't hit on me until I went to the Black College, they had the finest dudes at that college. My old acquaintances said because most are intimidated by me and don't know what to say.

PS: I know white dudes who are just as bad. I think the way people act all stems from how they were brought up.

Hey Reilsing,

I've tried a few times to start a response to you on this one, but its pretty hard to come up with a good answer without some more details... like where'd you grow up, where do you run into most of these guys, why do you think you are so often the object of thier attraction... things like that. Where do you live/work? A very urban area?

You remind me a lot of one of my best friends.. .she is beautiful, bi-racial and professional, but seems to end up with nothing but knuckleheads for boyfriends and can count on 1 hand the number of qaulity dates shes had with the types she is looking for.... so you are not alone.

I hope someone on here gives you some good advice on thsi one, you deserve it.

To answer your question: black urban males are lonely because they don't have anyone. They always ride in their cars by themselves "talking" on their cellphones. Having a real woman in the car to look at and talk to is exciting. Their trail is full of disappointed women and they seek out new unspecting women. I guess it's their "5 year mission", lol. Hey you could start a reality TV show and call it "Boo Trek."

You should document your experiences, locations, streets, businesses and license plates until new street harassment laws are passed. I will not fall foe the false racial solidarity and sell out rhetoric black males hide behind to justify their sexually deviant and uncivilized behavior. The best one can do, as a black woman is to avoid them as much as possible.
