You know I think most of those answers above me are correct, a "good" plumber could not simply fix a massive water leak, but I believe that an "AMAZINGLY GREAT TALENTED" plumber could do the job. And I think I would allow this plumber to use 3 pieces of gum if he wanted...you know just in case. ;)
But sadly I must say I have not come across any plumber such as this, but you know what, I believe they're out there!

So to answer your question there is no "good" plumber that can do the job, but a "GREAT" plumber that can. ;)

What planet do you live on. We once lived in an apartment where the plumber though electrical tape could stop a leak in the apartment above. Didn't work and gum won't work either.

ya, RIGHT!
not in this country.
gum has a tendency to blow out under pressure.

I have, stopped up a couple holes in worn out disposals when the customer didn' twant to buy a new one by sticking chewing gum through the holes in the sides once.
Only on a NON- pressurized drain pipe.
Even then, a good plumber doesn't use gum to make repairs.

A good plumber won't chew their fingernails and never eats the last bit of their sandwich...
