I had the extreme pleasure of being in Dodger stadium in September of 1965 when Sandy Koufax pitched his fourth and last no hitter against the Chicago Cubs. This one was also a perfect game by Koufax and the Cubs pitcher, Bob Hendley, pitched a one hitter. I believe that one hit in a game with two pitchers going nine innings is still a MLB record. It was a perfect game for both pitchers going into the bottom of the seventh inning and an outfielder for the Dodgers, do you remember the name Lou Johnson, hit a double and later scored in the inning without another hit. In1965 Koufax won the Cy Young and was the MVP in the world series which the Dodgers won. If you could have been there with me that day you would know why so many MLB players that had to face Koufax said he was the most dominating pitcher they ever faced. Thank you for asking the question.

These 3 games are my top ones:

July 1, 2004: Red Sox and Yankees. This is the game when Jeter jumped into the seats and then Manny hit his second homer that gave the Sox the lead in the 13th. Then with two outs, the Yankees got 3 straight hits with John Flaherty hitting a single to left to win.

October 16, 2003: Red Sox at Yankees. This was the game where Pedro and the Rocket faced off. Clemens didn't have it that night while Pedro was on; until the 7th at least. He gave up 4 hits and 3 runs that inning. We all know how it ended in the 11th inning when Aaron Boone led off with a home run to win.

June 21, 2005: Devil Rays at Yankees. This game I went to. Randy Johnson was pitching for the Yanks and he got murdered. The Yankees were getting crushed, down 10 to 2 after 4. Then in the 8th inning they scored 13 runs and ended up winning 20 to 11. It was amazing, the stadium was shaking.

I have one game that sticks out the most in my mind but three other honorable mentions (it'll be obvious what city I'm from). The main reason these games stick out the most is because of how I remember them, where I was, who I was with, etc. They are great games on their own, but I've probably watched better ones at home or whatever....

#1. Mets vs Atlanta, Game 5, 1999 ALCS
This was the game with Robin Ventura's walk-off grand slam single. At the time I was working in a movie theater and had rigged the lobby TVs to show the game instead of previews for upcoming movies. The game was tight the entire way and then extended into extra innings. We had guys leaving their girlfriends in the theater every few minutes to come check the score. The Braves took the lead in the top of the 14th (I think) and then the Mets came back in the bottom of the inning and topped it off with the walk-off grand-slam where Ventura was mobbed at first base and never made it any further.

#2: Yankees vs. Red Sox, Game 7, 2003 ALCS
I think most people remember this game. Pedro stays in, gives up a few runs, Aaron Boone in extra innings, amazing. I originally had tickets to a concert that night but gave them up to watch the game at a sports bar with friends. In the 7th inning my friend and I, the true fans we are, stopped paying attention after Clemens was pulled and started playing darts. Half-way through our game we realized the Yankees were back in it. As the innings passed the game became more intense. The coverage wasn't great, they returned from a commercial break right as Boone swung and the ball was into the left field seats before anyone in the bar even realized what was happening. It hit all at once and the place went nuts. They played "New York, New York" on the jukebox for the rest of the night and we kept getting free shots. It was a Thursday night and I had work on Friday.... not fun.

#3. Yankees vs Red Sox, summer 2004, just before the all star break, it was the game where Jeter dove into the stands. This was another extra-inning affair with the Yankees winning in extra innings. I went into the city (Manhattan) to visit a friend I hadn't seen in a while. We watched a few innings at her place and then when it went into extra innings we left for a sports bar during a commercial break. It was really cool to watch an intense game like that in NYC.

#4. Mets vs. Cardinals, Game 7, 2006 NLCS. Sadly, my team ended up on the losing end of this one, but it is one of the most amazing games I've seen with possibly the best catch I've ever seen, or at least the most clutch "great" catch. I was, again, at a sports bar with friends. With the game tied in the 6th or 7th inning Endy Chavez made that amazing catch about 3 feet above the left-field wall at Shea. The bar went nuts and none of us thought the Mets could lose at that point. Well, we all know the results, they did, but it was an amazingly close game until the end.

Other great games I remember but won't go into detail:
Games 4, 5 & 7 (yes 7) of the 2001 WS, Yankees vs. Diamondbacks
Game 4 of the 2001 ALCS, Yankees vs. Seattle, Clemens 1 hitter
Game 3 of the 2001 ALDS, Yankees vs. A's, incredibly tight game when Jeter made the flip to Posada to get the non-sliding Jeremy Giambi
Game 4, 2005 NLDS, Braves vs. Astros (yes, a non-NY game) - This was the 18 inning game with a walk-off series ending home run. I remember Clemens pitching three great innings in relief and even hitting in the 15th.

Game 7 of the 1991 world series is the best game I every saw period. I was in 7th grade and stayed up for the game and the post game celebrations. I only wish I was a little bit older to appreciate the intensity of the game. I understood the importance, but the anxiety would've been some thing neat to experience.

I went to game 3 of the 1999 World Series and saw the Yankees beat the Braves on a game winning home run from Chad Curtis.

I agree with Dan L...Game 7 in 1991 was amazing! First because who has pitched a 10 inning complete game shutout since then in such a huge game? I get goose bumps thinking about the bottom of the 10th Gene Larkin hitting his blooper to left center and they show Dan Gladden jumping up and down as he heads home to win the Twins their second world series!

the best baseball game i ever saw, was when i went to a pirates game (i'm from pittsburgh, LETS GO BUCS!!!) and we were pitching a no-hitter going into the tenth inning (i know how do you let a game ur pitching a no hitter in reach extra innings, just score a bleeping run) and we got them out in the top half then someone, i forget who, hit a walk off homerun in the bottom half. i doesnt get any better than that. regardless of how meaningful some like world series or pennant clinching games are, all the background stuff aside, this was one of the best games ever played. period
