No, it's not my internet connection. I ussally have 100-200ms but people that half of that reflects off my computer not beigng able to have much RAM, thus not comprehending the info fast enough.
It's pretty much just Freeze lag, really. I have Broadband so it's pretty good on the connection. Freeze lag is where I can be walking...Freezez for a second (In my case about 10-20 seconds in org or on a zep or anything..)

There are many different things you can do to help out the lag issue:
1. Video card with 256MB or more of dedicated RAM on the card itself. (takes strain off of some of your PC RAM)
2. RAM - Although 512MB is required, more RAM can't hurt. I use 1GB and haven't had lad issues.
3. Turn off any programs running in the background (except Vent or Teamspeak, if you use them)
4. Occasionally run your anti-virus and a spyware program (I use Adaware and Spybot). Spyware can create lag.
5. Run Disk Cleanup (Start> Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Cleanup). Anything that program find on your PC is safe to remove.
6. Run Disk Defragmenter (Start> Programs> Accessories> System Tools> Disk Defragmenter). What this does is takes bits and pieces of files that have been scattered throughout your hard drive and put them all in the same area. Hence, faster programs.
Hope this helps ya out! Happy Gaming :)

For WoW, 1gb is fine although I'd recommend 2gb because who knows what the next expansion will bring.
WoW has relatively low hardware requirements compared to other massively multiplayer online games, and works fine with modest video cards like the GeForce 7300GT and Radeon X1650XT.
You don't need a high-end system with a GeForce 8800 to play World of Warcraft... Vanguard or Lord of the Rings Online? Different story.
Sometimes you'll get lag because of bandwidth, or server-side issues (and with millions of players, that's gonna happen no matter what hardware you've got)

I was running 1 Gig of Ram when I used to play WoW - however, I have since moved to playing Guild Wars and found it to be a better overall game. It took me 4 or 5 months to reach level 60 playing WoW - quite a few hours everyday. Also - the monthly cost of Guild Wars is free compared to WoW and it's monthly charges.
I have been playing Guild Wars now for almost a year and have almost completed 75% of the game titles on one character - you can have 6 to start and each campaign you purchase, you get another two character slots for free.
Take Care and Good Luck.
Good Luck!

If you're running Windows XP, 2 GB RAM is best. Having a fast CPU and hard drive help a lot as well.
Also, make sure your system is clean of spyware and viruses. Since some viruses will actively use your internet connection to transfer their data, it'll obviously eat up bandwidth and CPU / memory resources on your computer that could be used for WoW.

I'm playing WoW with only 1GB memory on both my laptop and desktop system. I plan on upgrading to 2GB when I can afford to.
I notice some lag in the cities during peak times, but not while questing.
I usually have TeamSpeak, WoW, two IE browsers (one with Google and one with Allakhazam), Yahoo Messenger and WinAmp running.
I also try to keep my system clean by running an anti-spyware program and defraging once a week.

Ya dude if your computer is lagged down with porn than a gig of ram is supa fine. I'm running 1gig and 54 MPS (actually runs that fast and its wireless(i actually download **** that fast)) and it only lags when my internet droped but that was fixed... also you don't really need a really good graphics card... intergrated cards will work too. also i know a friend that his is like so horrible like from 98 and it works fine and he has 256 ram. So your friends with 2 gig that are lagging either have horrible internet or ther comps are lagged down with porn

- optimize system
- close all running programs
- clean out system start folder
- make sure lots of free space on drives
- lower graphic detail and screen resolution of WoW
- don't run anything else while playing WoW
- close unneeded services from running on computer
