Well, why aren't there movie theatres, stadiums and supermarkets beeing blown upby suicide bombers here? Is it just possible that "terrorists" just want "infidels" out of Muslim lands? I mean look, the borders are wide open, are they trying to tell us that our national security is this darn good as to stop acts of terrorism? HA! C'mon people, wake up! Those so called "terrorists" don't want to "follow us home", they just want us out of theirs...

"Jahpson", you know what I mean.. It's been YEARS since 911. There has always been terrorism, and it will always be around. The magnitude of 911 was the only difference.

"gerafalop", thanks for making my point for me, you poor scared thing you. Ever ask yourself what happend to all those terrorists caught "plotting"... Exactly, you hear about them once on FOX news and then the news disappears as if by magic. Where are those kids who were arrested for taking pictures of the Chicago landmarks?

"chickey_soup" I disagree.. All those individual kidnappings and beheadings are designed to drive the point home.

The whole terrorist thing is a waste of breath. To be afraid to live your life is what they want most. To create hate and discontent, to disrupt and change our lives is their goal. They want the world to see us they way they see us...and they are winning if you live in fear.
My heart goes out to each and every family that has lost a member in our military as we continue to fight a battle we don't belong in, in the middle east. We need to bring our military home and secure our boarders and take care of the people who need help HERE. We need to quit being the world's police force and mind our own. What a thought...

People who believe that are just fear-based irrational thinkers.
The true strategy behind ALL of AQ's attacks against US interests was ALWAYS to try to draw the US into a confrontation in their Middle East backyard, where they knew from their success in the Afghanistan war that they retained the tactical advantages of guerrilla-style warfare and overtaxing the high-tech US military's supply infrastructure.
In their own backyards the insurgents/terrorists can much more easily recruit an embittered Muslim off the street and train him or her to pull an AK-47 trigger or arm an IED and then run away, than the US military can train and replace it's number of highly specialized forces.
It was NEVER to try to confront the US on its own soil where A-Q and other insurgent groups KNEW they had no chance of success on anything other than a microscopic basis. It would be sheer folly and a waste of resources for them, and they knew it all along.
Their goal has always been to try to weaken the US empire and bring it to its knees by a "bring it to bankruptcy" attrition campaign.
However, the US didn't take the bait with the attacks on the USS Cole and the other attempts. That is why they planned and carried out 911 (it's irrelevant whether there was any complicity on the part of the US, A-Q still wanted to accomplish their goal) in order to goad the US into coming into their backyard of the Middle East.

Please let me remind everyone that the Bush administration ignored all of the warnings which made 911 possible in the first place. If they really want to protect OUR land, they would stop all of the ridiculous rules at the airport (nothing over 2 ounces, even if it's breast milk!) and concentrate on the ports. Very few of the containers coming through our ports are screened. Therefore, if I were a terrorist, I'd send 50 containers through with people, weapons, bombs, etc & maybe one will be discovered. And that's only in one shipment. Now multiply it by all the ships coming in every day. We have done nothing but turn the world against us by invading Iraq. We're in more danger now than ever before. Thank you, Mr Bush!!!

The whole goal of terrorists is to do the most damage possible. They aren't interested in killing a few random people here and there, they are interested in mass casualties that will garner media attention and inspire fear.
When you hear about a random murder, typically your not scared. When you hear of people getting blown up on the bus, you worry.
Look at who they kidnap when it is individual...is it joe schmo or is it a journalist, a soldier, etc?
I'm not the slightest bit concerned I am going to be attacked by a terrorist at the supermarket. In a subway, in a mall, in a stadium, yeah maybe a bit.

We shouldn't really be afraid of that - it will happen, but the chances of any given individual being a victim are miniscule - you should be more afraid of your own car or shower, you're more likely to die in either of them than at the hands of a terrorist.
The idea that terrorists have no interest in attacking the US is obviously false, as the WTC was attacked not once, but twice by terrorists, and many more attempts on US targets had been made before, and have been made since - it's just that most fail, many without intervention by counter-terrorist activities, it's hard to pull off such operations and they often just fall through due to lack of resources, coordination problems, and the like.

Vote in a Democrat and we will find out. But all it takes is one "oh S**t" and it is too late. The terrorists have released the latest video suggesting they are planning a larger scale attack than that of 9/11. I for one do not want that to happen and as long as we can take on the terrorists over there I am all for it. Wars cannot be won over night. Stay the course!!!

Bombings in a place in Iraq don't have the same impact on the American psyche as, say, a large bomb in the Mall of America at Christmas time. I'm afraid that one of these days the terrorists will figure that out, if they haven't already.

If you can keep people afraid, you can eliminate their ability to reason. That is why the government issues "terror alert levels" and all of that. George Bush is the terrorist. He breeds fear and discontent. He has also brainwashed the religious right. I am more afraid of what he will do next than I am of terrorists at the Wal*mart.

I always knew the "they will follow us home" and "they hate us for our freedom" was a complete joke and made up line by this administration to get the sheep to follow. Anybody who has done any studying on the middle east knows how silly that really is.

So we just put our heads in the sand, and pretend people AREN'T trying to kill us?? Right.
What should we do? Should we hug them, and tell them we are sorry??
Also, what about prior attack on WTC? That is two attacks on our soil.
And the attacks in Spain and England? They want those people out of Muslim lands as well, I guess.
And all the attacks on Israel, they just want them out too, right?
How would you feel if America wanted all Muslims out of OUR country? That would be racist!!!
But for Muslims, it is OK??
Did I miss anything??
