If the present situation in Iraq continues relatively unchanged into 2008, it doesn't matter whether the Dems win the White House or not.

There will be another brutal massacre of Republican congressmen, and at that point the Dems will possess the votes to override a Republican President whether he opposes the Dem Congress or not.

So you cons had better be praying for a miracle in Iraq and SOON, or it won't make any difference if your Presidential candidate wins.

I'm not con - never been to prison in my life - but I do question your hypothesis.

I actually think a Democratic president in '08 is more likely than a second large Democratic gain in Congress. The reason is simple - the Democratic Congress is disapointing the people who voted them in. The people will almost certainly go for a Democratic pres in '08, but they'll likely vote in thier incumbents on Congress. The 06 congressional election was cast as a Bush referendum by the Democrats, and it worked. It won't work when there's a president to vote for.

You libs better be praying for a miracle too, because if the Dems win the WH in'08, and the problem is still going on, it's theirs to solve. What makes you think that they can come to a consensus about it? They haven't so far. If by some miracle they do, and they can get the votes to cut and run, there will be hell to pay. If they decide to stay and fight the spread of terrorism...well, it's in their lap to find a solution.

I know. This Democratic Congress is so ridiculous. They keep caving when it comes to the president. They better watch out. They seem to forget the needs and wants of those who voted them there in the first place. I hope they understand that they can easily be removed. If I was the democrats, I would be very intimidated to win the election in 08. There is so much clean up to be done, it's just unbearable to think about.

You're predicting that its possible for there to be a Republican President in 08 and a landslide victory in the congress for the Dems? How many elections have you watched?

When a president is elected, his party typically does well in congress on the simple fact that many people concentrate solely on the president possition.

hmmm...let me explain it to you liberal. The filthy democrats were elected only for this reason, to end the war. Not because they were better than there GOP rivals, no, it was to end the war. And now, the democrats, CAN'T and Won't end the war.

You liberals had better be praying that the garbage man doesn't come and take all of you away.

Also, has your beatufil congress done anything yet?? I mean besided spreading there anti-troops propaganda.

You're assuming the war is the ONLY issue that resonates with voters. There are too many other issues out there that sway voters.

Conservatives are not all republican – those terms are not interchangeable. I am a conservative but voted republican the last two elections but if they keep pushing this immigration crap they have lost my vote.
