I use Bar Keepers Friend on burn spots because it won't scratch it. If that didn't get it off you can use a straight razor but you have to be care full not to scratch the stove.

For the stove spray some Scrub Free the one you use to clean bathrooms get the one with bleach, spray and go tend to other chores in the mean time that this as time to work on the stove ,do not use anything abrasive to scrub by the sound of it you have too many scratches on the enamel .

For the carpet try some Club soda and a soft scrub brush to soften the stain a little ,since you don't mention what type of stain it is it's rather difficult to help you out !. Then spray some spot remover on it and scrub again use a bit of warm water to ,it all depends how old this stain is ! Last option go out and rent a steam cleaner but even that as no guarantee . Good luck with the Land lady!

For the stove spots use a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser...Just use water and lightly rub the spot. This also works for scuff marks on the floor and walls.... For the carpet try Barbarasol mens shaving cream and a scrub brush.... Wet the spot, scrub in the shaving cream, rinse and blot dry with a light colored towel
