underwear, and i wouldn't spend more than a dollar per pair.. depending on the amount they've been worn.

Honestly, poor people go there looking for junk for their house or toys for their kids. Last time I had a garage sale, it was all poor, old, fat people looking for a bargin. People will buy pretty much anything that is clean and works! However, if you are going to have a sale, here are a few pointers: 1. Don't watch the people as they look through the items. This makes the customer uncomfortable and less likely to buy. 2. Of course, be friendly 3. Put a price that is more than what you plan on getting. Buyers will almost always try to bargin you down. 4. Have your products layed out nicely and cleaned 5. Put batteries in electronics that require them. This proves to the customer that the product actually works. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

everything and anything will sell at a garage sale! I had a sale last month and someone bought a shoebox full of empty cd cases
we just wanted to get rid of the stuff so our sale was pretty much $1 and under except for big items like tools, a crib, etc.

I'd say "garages!" but by the time I post this, others will have said it too. Anyway, usually I look for stuff I really need, like tools, furniture that only needs some fixing, fishing tackle, skiing equipment & old photos or paintings (good ones). I don't expect to pay much at all...that's why it's in a garage sale and not at an auction!

I look to look. I buy paperbacks for my mom since she reads one a day and NEVER pay more than 25 cents. I buy cute tops for my grandaughter, swimsuits in different sizes, cause I have a pool and people come over without a suit. I buy puzzles and pay 25 cents cause you never know if the pieces are all there. Last week I bought a coffee pot as my glass one broke. My sister bought a wing back chair. VHS tapes do not sell for more than $1.00 cause everyone is buying DVD now. Anything you want to get rid of may sell. Please do NOT sell underclothes or broken items. Just remember if you want it to sell, go cheap. And if you have it on a Friday, remember to stay open till 6:30 to catch people who have to work. They like sales, too. Toward the end of your sale like the last four hours think about whats left & how much you don't want to bring it back in the house, time for a price markdown. Clump same kinds of things together & go cheap to sell in a bunch price. Remember to put up tons of signs. If you make them go with bright colors people can read easy. And always take your signs down, save them for your next sale.

Items for sale at the garage sale. Whatever people want to sell that that don't want anymore. As cheap as possible. I don't usually go to garage sales mostly because the items selling are cheap, broken, old, used, secondhand 9call it what you will).

Cookbooks (especially vintage ones), and other kitchen stuff. I got a great cast iron fajita skillet for $2 which retails for $25. I've bought wooden wine boxes for storage for $2. There are no set prices around here, you just ask. And if you buy enough they usually combine prices and knock the total down. Like if it should have added up to $7, the say "How about $3?" Okay!

Nikkinat bought one too. Mine was a 2-car job. Had a hard time getting it home. A lot harder than the tailgate I bought at a "tailgate" sale.
