They group it all together because they don't believe in it. They don't believe the smaller guy deserves a break. They don't believe that the government should provide anything. They don't believe every lifestyle is the same as their's.
Ending point; they just don't care. It shows us just what kind of senseless bag monkeys they really are; ESPECIALLY their leader; George Bush.

During the cold war we were told Communism was evil. It was drilled into our minds. That mentality continues through the years. Recently democratic socialism has began to emerge internationally as a functional government, generally socialist democratic governments disagree with the every man for himself idea that American society seems to boast. Socialism believes in taxation ad spending money withing the homeland to improve living conditions for ALL citizens, not just the ones who can afford it. Socialism believes is fare wages, quality accessible education, health care etc. Because the ideas of socialism are contrasting from the ideals of capitalism it is seen as a threat to America, or rather the wealthy in America. Communism has vastly different ideals, Communism essentially levels the playing field creating a economically beige society without individual ownership.
Look at it this way, in a socialist government, the additional taxes you pay are like an employer garnishing your wages for things like Retirement, Heath, life and insurance policies, however in this case the money is removed in taxes and the government is providing those services.
In communist government you pretty much sign over the pay cheque and the government allocates you a provision so that you have enough to meet you needs with regards to food, education and care. You have a roof over you head and generally a decent standard of living, however there is not a great deal of room for greed. one cannot make a fortune in a communist society. (it is entirely possibly under socialism)
Liberals do have some socialist ideals, they would rather see the billions of dollars being pissed away liberating a people that never asked to be liberated spent on home to ensure that everyday Americans have a decent standard of living.
Confusing the three is out of ignorance.

I would say half do not understand. One half knows that American Liberalism is simply a slightly left leaning Centrism. But these folks blur the lines by constantly combining Liberalism, Communism, Fascism, Socialism, and every other ism you can think of in order to dupe millions of ignorant people. The other half are the ignorant people.

It is just semantics. Since the democrats backed down from the label of liberal in the 1980's and 1990's the R's have been able to tag them with it. Instead of defending their ideas, they seem to cut and run whenever that word is thrown out and it is a very effective tool for the R's. As for the comment that there are more socialists in the democratic party now than ever, I would have to disagree. It seems to me that both parties are becoming more centrist as would be expected over time. That is just one of the many, many reasons the majority feels disenfranchised.
P.S. Nazi's were not socialists. They were a totalitarian response to the socialist movements in other parts of the world.

Yes they know the difference, but today everyone forgets that the term is relative... The Republicans are afraid that if anyone defines it properly that they will be 'lefties' as well. As there can be no such thing as the right to violate rights, any government that violates the rights of it's own citizens is LEFT.
In truth you cannot discuss degrees of evil, if you agree that the state should have the arbitrary power to violate rights you are a socialist...

I am a conservative. I am not rich, in fact the government classifies me as poor. I think education is for everyone. I know the definitions of liberalism, socialism and communism. Many conservatives, myself included, are aware that modern American liberalism is quickly becoming socialism. Are all liberals, socialist? Of course not. It just seems that are lot more are now, then were ten or fifteen years ago.

They are mere degrees apart, and they come from the same mindset.
I think it is modern liberalism which is confused. I see many comparing Conservatives to Nazis, yet the Nazis were socialist.
Everyone knows that a real education can ONLY be had by the rich, but it is due to public education. And that is becoming highly socialist. See a connection?

It comes from being of low IQ and being misinformed from sources like Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. Those that have a below average IQ tend to just believe what they are told and not do research to find out what the truth is.

Socialism is the typical economic policy of a communist country and both of which are located on the far left of the political spectrum. Whenever someone is taking an extreme left position, it's really not much of a stretch to call him a commi.

You make a statement like "conservatives are rich and want education only for the rich" and you are calling conservatives dumb? I don't give a damn what your degree is in. You are argumentative and tunnel visioned.
