Yes. I believe there has to be. We may never get to see them though! I don't know if I believe in alien abductions or any of that but do you know there are billions and billions of galaxies with planets and suns and moons? How could we be the only ones? Maybe there is another planet like earth some where. And they can't get to us like we can't get to them. I am not sure if aliens are going to look like the sci-fied version with the big round head and black eyes. I believe we can't be the only ones in such a vast universe.

As far as we know, water is needed to support life. however, you're right, there could be other species out there that do not require water or air to live, in which case the universe is our oyster! However, considering what we know about life and its processes, it's most likely that Mars would be the planet best suited for life other than earth. There's evidence that seems to suggest traces of water, mars has a firm surface (unlike, say, Jupiter or Neptune) and it's close enough to the sun where it could support life. We may never know.

first and foremost, yes i believe there is life on other planets. but something else to think about is that many people wonder why we would not have been contacted by now. there are a few reasons: we have only been emitting radio waves since the last hundred years or so and those have not even gone far past our own solar system; unless they know where to look they may have not pointed there own form of telescope our way; they may know we are here and have the capability to reach us but are waiting for us to advance to a certain point. i know that's not what you asked just wanted to add to your thought.

If you are referring to just the planets in our solar system, then there is no "they." No people, no other intelligent beings.
If you mean planets anywhere, then they could be anywhere.
As for water, that is referring to "life as we know it" or hydrocarbon based life forms.
If there were life forms based on some other chemistry we don't know of, well, we don't know of any. Could be based on Silicon, or sulfur, or any chemical composition, given the proper conditions.

Life on other planets, yes, but I think we should look here in our own oceans, we have not even explored the great depths we have here.
