i am connected to a network with my laptop. In the process of trying to get the printer that is connected to another computer on the network connected to mine there were problems. Originally the printer was being noticed by my computer but it still wouldn't work. Then i deleted the printer, and i am trying to add it again and my computer can not detect it. Can anyone help?

Possibly, its a problem with sharing. The best thing to do is to make sure that the computer to which the printer is connected is shared. Open the Printer's Properties and check to see whether sharing is enabled and go for a reboot if it was not.

Then, try to establish the connection again. If it still doesnt work, you can try installing the printer driver for your computer and then manually sharing the printer which would definitely work thereafter.

Go to the pc where the printer is connected. Go to Printers (printers and faxes or printers in control panel); make sure the printer is shared. I sugges rebooting the pc and double check that the printer is still shared.

Now go to the laptop. Open printers and faxes and add new printer. Let the Windows print spooler find the printer as it directs you and all should be fine.

you'll need to provide a lot more info, (os, printer brand and model, pcbrand and model, etc) to get an answer.
since you need some often complex answers, try going to msngroups, computer help club, general board and post the question there. they are a bunch of geeks who answer all kinds of computer-related questions. this would be an easy one for them.
you will have to sign up (free) to use the site, but it's also a part of the microsoft network so your ID is good on any of the ms sites, like live search, etc.
