Not a thing! You are more than smart if you learn to wash your "dry clean only's" in your washer. Just use the gentle cycle and don't dry in the dryer. Mine spin out enough that I can hang them right back on the rod to dry. If they dry a bit wrinkled, turn on a hot shower and close the bathroom door and drape over the shower curtain to get rid of the wrinkles. Good luck! :)

I have washed may curtains that say "Dry Clean Only". I wash them in the gentle cycle with a mild detergent, like Ivory Snow and hang them to dry outside on the clothesline. If they are a heavy curtain, I usually fold it right over the clothesline so as not to make them go out of shape! Works so far for me.
Good Luck.

Depends on the fabric and quality of the curtains. I personally would use a product like Dryel (found in the laundry products section). I have washed curtains and found them to be extremely wrinkled (and a pain to iron) and usually the curtains fade, shrink (regardless of water temp) and the lining stretches, hanging below the curtain and sticking out on the sides. Can you afford to ruin them? That's what I ask myself when attempting things like that, sometimes yes, sometimes no. Good luck!

iv'e seen the results many times,as a ex drycleaner, they can shrink the curtain shrinks the lining doesn't it all depends on the fabric some velour types once washed the velour comes off if you must wash , wash cold with minimum agitation eg delicate/wool cycle do not tumble dry. the difference is water makes the fibres swell solvvent doesn't you know what happens to a tissue in a wash ,well dryclean ing it comes out virtually the same as it went in.

I have washed various items on delicate that say dry clean only and then hung them to dry. What I have found is that they get very wrinkly. You might want to get a package of the dry clean sheets you use at home in your dryer (like Dryell) and use them.

You can wash them on delicate cycle, but do not put in dryer, unless you have a no heat option. I would hang to dry.(you could hang them back on rod to dry depending on how wet they are)

Depending on the material you may fade the colors or shrink the curtain.

Depends on the material....some items can be washed on delicate cycle or by hand and hung to dry......but more than likely you will end up trashing them.

They'll get wrinkled. You can only damp dry them and try to hang them quickly before they dry completely....
