I've read the entire series twice and was wondering what other people's opinions were on the series.

Well, Carnac, if I hadn't liked the series the first time I read it I probably wouldn't have read it twice, wouldn't you think?

Searcher, including the 3 prequels: The Rising, The Regime, and The Rapture; and the new sequel that just came out in April: Kingdom Come, there are actually 16 books in the series.

I've read all 12 of the books and recently found out that Jerry Jenkins and Tim LaHaye have written a 13th book in the series, which covers the Millenium.

I've enjoyed the series, but I have to wonder about the timeline. When you read the Bible, how does anyone come up with the timeline mentioned as fact about the Great Tribulation.

Personally, I'm not convinced that the scriptures used for the Rapture mean that we will escape all of the Great Tribulation. The verses talk about escaping a Great Wrath which God will pour out on mankind, but that doesn't mean that we will avoid the entire time.

So, I think it's better to live our lives in a way that we are prepared to face anything and to live it in a way that pleases our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

well, as a bit of an amateur eschatologist i did read most of the series. however, the characters became increasingly flat as the series progressed. the dialogue is contrived and the plot lines rigid. i suppose as a form of evangelism, they might be effective as a kind of scared straight program. the biblical interpretations are very narrow and so literal that the full grandeur of God's creation seems comical. they are not the best writers, to me. but as they are wildly popular in some circles, i do give them credit for taking on a difficult subject.

I`ve read the first one. I liked it and I assume I`ll read the others when I can get them. Didn`t know that there were sixteen. The authors are`nt very well known here in Germany.

I read a few of them, but not the whole series. There is no growth in the characters, making the story very dull for me.
I'm glad you like it though.

I have not read the books yet. From what I have heard about it, it sounds very interesting.

No. But it's on my list, right after I finish reading all the phone books, the tax code, and the complete owners manual for every product I've ever bought.

Haven't read any of them. I know that they're based on those silly end times scenarios and in principle I think those are rubbish. Perhaps they're okay if taken as fiction. Why don't you tell us what you think since you've read them twice?
