This is fairly simple to do - download an Anti-Virus Guard, such as "avg" from http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1, and run the update, then install a firewall, such as Windows Firewall, and also an anti-spyware guard such as Adaware SE -http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910.html or Windows Defender - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx. When they are installed, update them each to the latest version and then run the scans one by one. They should remove any unwanted programs that might be spamming other computers.

Install a firewall program, such as the free Zone Alarm from http://download.com , and set it monitor and log all incoming and outgoing traffic. Wait 24 hours and inspect the log. If you are infected you will see entries where your computer suddenly starts to pour out hundreds of e-mails.
