1. Don't feed the monkey; in this case, the creature feeds on your fear and/or disdain. Be the monkey whisperer, show it who is the alpha primate.
2. You don't have to be mean, but it does help to be serious and imposing... as monkeys are smaller than people you should be able to exert your power, even though it is an ill-tempered beast.
3. You're a woman... favorite shirts come and go.

Trade some macadamia nuts for the shirt, I hear those are a favorite of mad bad monkeys.

get some holy banana's and lure it out, then jump on it's back and get your shirt back. then after it eats the holy banana it will become nice and not scary or mean. "Tah Dah" now you ave a pet monkey

I would recommend and idea that I have but I am afraid the bloodstains wouldn't come out of your shirt...
Perhaps in due time it will become bored and just leave.. If not leave a banana peel for it to slip on.
