As a Sophmore, so far I have amassed a Cumulative 4.1 GPA taking an Honors English and AP US History class this year. My Class Rank is 12 out of 528 students. Next year I plan to take AP Govt. and AP Stats and Spanish my senior. I am a varsity athlete in wrestling and i have a shot at placing next year. I participate in our state recognized A'Capella Choir
Every Sunday I am a bing caller.
Also plan to be in NHS next year and I am in a group that welcomes the freshmen the first day of school
With a these stats, would most colleges accept me?
I fear that some colleges would not even look out me.
What is your opinion?

I have to admit that with a record like that in my school, I would've had no problem getting into a college of my choice (*cough* UofM *cough*), but you also have to remember that it does depend on what university that you are shooting for. Academically, you show great potential and would do well in any state university, but if you're trying to get into an Ivy League school like Harvard or Princeton or even Baylor for that mater, you may have a harder time doing it. Most colleges today even the state funded schools aren't just looking for someone who knows how to study but someone who will make it in the real world after graduation. My suggestion is that you Find the one thing you enjoy doing and apply yourself to it and then think about what college would be best suited for that field, that way you would have no problem getting in.

There are probably some that would not; most would. I'm afraid that the fact that you have a 4.1 GPA and are only 12th in your class of 528 is a sign of serious grade inflation, unless you are at a private school for the seriously gifted. Your activities sound fine, and you are obviously taking a serious academic program, which is a good thing. What we don't know yet is your SAT score, and with your class rank, you might have trouble being admitted to some elite schools which are unlikely to take even the best student at most schools.

Congratulations.

you should be good to go academically, however, you may want to look into more extracurricular / volunteer activities.

There are many colleges now who have placed a heavier weight on extra activities (whether they are with school / religious organization / or public areas) to bring well rounded individuals to their campuses.

Start now keeping a record of various service projects you do with NHS or other activities that you participate in.

Again congratulations and keep up the great work!

Asian? Sorry to listen to that. It's been proven that making use of as an Asian to selective universities is identical to losing ~seventy five SAT features. So, your SAT rating can be dealt with because it it had been ~2315. Still, you are aggressive sufficient for all universities. Maybe you must say much less approximately the dancing and extra approximately the fencing... Be definite so as to add a few Safety Schools, equivalent to: Santa Clara U (ranked above Berkeley via Forbes Magazine) Colgate U (ranked above Cornell via Forbes Magazine) U of Rochester (ranked above UCSD) Vanderbilt (ranked above Berkeley) Sewanee — University of the South (Ranked above UCSD) Bucknell U (ranked above Berkeley)
