Converting a fraction to a percent is a matter of writing an equivalent fraction. If your fraction is a/b, you simply solve a/b=x/100.

I'm guessing you mean 8/56. Well, you don't need to convert to a percent. Just multiply 450 by your fraction to get the discount, then subtract it from the list price to get the net price.

Well, it probably isn't 8/56, but whatever it is, say a/b, you just multiply by a/b to get the discount amount.

1. change fraction into a decimal and then move the decimal point two places to the right

1/5 = (or 1 divided by 5) = .20 = 20%

2. Not sure what 8/5/6 means, but lets try to explain how to find net price given list price.

Assume getting 8% discount
take list price and multiply by discount

subtract this amount from the list price and you will have the discounted price.

3. to find discount, (hopefully you are given the discounted price and list price) ---- subtract discounted price from list price and then divide this amount by the list price. You will get a decimal value - move the decimal point two places to the right and you will get the discount percentage

I'll show you how to calculate the result of chain discounts.

8/5/6 is
(1.00-0.08)(1.00-0.05)(1.00-0.06) = 0.82156

So discount price is

$450.00 * 0.82156 = $369.70
.
