Advise her not to shave. That's sounds so painful and unpleasant, and why should she do it? Tell her you like a woman to look like a woman, not like a six-year-old. Learn to love her pubic hair -- nothing is sexier than running your fingers through nice soft natural hair!

The best option would be to not shave her "area". The nasty bump sounds like folliculitis or abscess.
I might guess that an electric shaver would be less likely to cause this than a blade, but I don't know of any research.

Maybe she is shaving against the direction of the hair growth. Tell her to shave in the same direction of the hair growth. Take my advise, I'm a female and shave everyday and never have bumps.

Ah the joys of modern mores. The sound of a man's morning stubble rubbing up against a woman's morning stubble.
You're with a woman and real women have pubic hair, enjoy it.

There's always wax. And for the people against trimming pubic hair I'm just going to say that's fine as long as she doesn't want you going down on her. Unless you want a mouthful of hair..
