Tricky one...

There are different schools of thought regarding this...

*- If you own a legitimate copy of the music you are downloading then there is nothing wrong with it as you are merely protecting the state of your CDs

Other than that, if you get caught then you don't have a leg to stand on :-(

Using Limewire or any other P2P file sharing program such as Kaaza or Bearshare, (free or paid) to download any copyrighted music, movies, software etc, without paying for it,in illegal in the USA.

It is fairly rare, but people do get sued and fined for using these P2P programs. Such as this girl here:
http://www.theregister.co.uk/2003/09/09/the_riaa_sees_the_face/

Also, many of the files that are downloaded using these programs are bundled with viruses, trojans, spyware, and adware. Always scan everything you download using any P2P program with your anti-virus and anti-spyware software before you use then.

Limewire lets you download for free stuff which is on sale at music stores, almost like shoplifting.

What do you think??

Depends which country you live in.

I would be more worried about the fact that you're using Limewire. It's full of RIAA fakes, corrupt files, and viruses.

Switch to Usenet.

The music companies have been ripping us off for years with the crappy music they force feed us. I don't really care if it is illegal, it's payback.
