Cookies hold information for websites. They can be used for tracking purposes, or they can be used for good (like to keep your login information for a website so that you don't have to keep typing it in).

Hi Alex,

It won't hurt anything but the next time you go to sites that normally know you you will have to sign in again.

it is a good idea to occasionally delete cookies as regular maintenance.

You'll have to re-login to the websites that have stored their passwords and settings on your computer via cookies. No big deal, the next time you log into the website, it will re-download the cookie.
