Well, someone I very much dislike has been in office almost 8 years and I'm still here doing my best to support my family and keep my head above water. I didn't vote for G.W. Bush. I had better sense than to do that, but I won't run because he is not my choice. I stay and do what I can by giving to the DNC and helping local Democrats get elected. There will be some people who will act like idiots. There usually are no matter who wins. I don't happen to be one of them. Are you?

You have defined a significant problem that exists and for which we have no Constitutional correction. The answer is to add an amendment to the Constitution that would allow for a removal of a sitting President by referendum approved by 75% of the country. But that will never happen. So, we shut up and enjoy life until the next loser is elected. We need a good thrid party! Fourth! Fifth!

Then we become the loyal opposition. We oppose the bad and support the good. The country is based on compromise.
It is not that easy to "put the country in the ground" . Don't be too disheartened. As you may have noticed it is one thing to get elected, it is quite another to pass legislation that is bad for America.
If we loose (and I don't think we will) we renew our efforts to educate the rest of America.

I wouldn't be upset with a Democrat in office.
A Repube, very disappointed. But what can ya do? Leave the country is one option I have considered in the past, not Canada but a nice tropical island.

I think the best solution is what I've done since 2000; suck it up. Voice your opinions, voice them as loudly and in whatever forum you choose. Tell your Congressional representatives how you think they should represent you.
Fleeing to Canada because your party didn't win the election is the political equivalent of asking for a divorce because you and your spouse can't agree on what color to paint the bedroom.

The solution for you is the same solution I had when Bush got elected. Bush has been even worse than I was afraid he might be, and I'm still here hoping we all survive and protesting against some of the actions of this administration..

the anti-Bush crowd was fairly large when he was first, "elected" and now it has grown to a very vocal majority. we've been waiting in agony for the next election, Kerry blew it what a tool, and we have to wait it out again and watch him drive the future into the ground, add fuel to a blazing fire in Iraq, and damage America's credibility with our European allies and the Islamic world.
the next president, even if it is Fred Thompson, or Barack Obama, has a serious task with damage control and repair thanks to the outgoing President.

After the Democrats attempts to negate or not accept the military vote years ago , I believe we came close to a military coup . Maybe I'm exaggerating but now if it were to happen or if they did something outrageous to hurt our country , I think it would happen this time . Don't forget , most of the military are Conservatives . Actually they comprise a huge percentage of our military and their Love for our country just might come down to this .
