Im looking for what you do on the driving test? Do all the instructor people take you on a specific path? What do they do? Do they tell you when you do something wrong or wait until the end? Please Anything you can possibly tell me...

Im taking it in Pasadena, Ca

Thanks

I took mine yesterday. Ok here is what I didn't do right.

When we parked on the street ( a huge 2 lane road with no middle line, the size of a 4 lane street) I didn't signal when I left oops.

When you do a "quick stop" always check the rear view mirror.

Always go the speed limit even if ppl are honking.

When you reverse I think he said to have the left hand on the top and look everywhere (which I did, not sure why he said that)

And stuff like that. I got an 86 tho.
He told me like 1 think wrong, and then he reviewed it at the end for like a minute. Don't forget to always read signs, stop all the way ect.

Oh. I was going on this street slowing down at an intersection to make a right hand turn. Well this turn only sort of was separated by the main road with a small median, and it had a yield sign. Well the street I was on had a stop light, but I was on an only turn with a yield and I saw no one was comming so I slowed down and went and he's like "you were suppose to stop" and Im thinking BS. Oh well, it's easy.

They will take everyone on the same course. First, keep calm. It is NOT a one stop test. If you don't pass you can come back and do it again. Second, look for small tricks. For example, if you are in a parking lot when you start the driving test "FOLLOW THE MARKERS". Don't cut across the lines for a short cut. They will flunk you right away. Even if the parking lot is empty drive all the way down before turning.
COME to a COMPLETE stop at all stop signs and look before proceeding. They want to make sure you are well aware of your surroundings. If you need to talk to your self while driving then do so. Make sure that you and they have their seat belt on. YOU are the driver of the car and YOU are responsible for everyone in there including the tester.

Yep, check lights, etc before going anywhere, and put on your seatbelt. Also, be sure to check your mirrors constantly while driving. Look ahead, left mirror, ahead, right mirror, ahead, rear view mirror, over and over again. Try to actually move your head when you look, not just your eyes. This will make it obvious that you're paying attention to everything around you.

They won't tell you what you do wrong until the end of the test. Try to relax. It's JUST a driving test. You can always take it again a few days later if you fail.

Good luck.

Look in your mirrors often, the better you drive the shorter the test. They didn't tell me when I did anything wrong until it was over. Don't ride the brake and use your mirrors is the best I know to tell you besides relax, even if you fail it is only a temporary set back. Don't take a drink with you, fasten your seat belt, and do not smoke during the test. Good luck.

HAND SIGNALS VERY IMPORTANT. WATCH YOUR TURNS TOO, DON'T MAKE THEM TO WIDE OR TO TIGHT. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE FROM THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU AND WATCH THE SPEED LIMITS. USUALLY THEY HAVE SOME FAVORITE PATHS OR STREETS THAT THEY USE BUT THEY PROBABLY VARY THEM SOME SO THAT YOU CAN'T GO THERE AHEAD OF TIME AND PRACTICE. DON'T DRIVE THE CAR TO THE TEST BECAUSE YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO HAVE ANOTHER DRIVER IN THE CAR ANYWAY SO LET THEM DRIVE TO THE TEST SITE. I GOT IN TROUBLE FOR DRIVING TO THE TEST SITE EVEN THOUGH MY FATHER WAS WITH ME. ALSO BE POLITE BUT DON'T APPEAR TOO NERVOUS BECAUSE THEY CAN TAKE THAT INTO CONSIDERATION AS A PERSONALITY TRAIT. PARKING IS ALSO IMPORTANT. IF IT'S PARALLEL DON'T HIT THE CURB. LEAVE THE CAR 8 TO 10 INCHES FROM THE CURB INSTEAD OF TRYING TO GET TOO CLOSE AND HITTING IT. THEY USUALLY DO NOT TELL YOU IF YOU MADE ANY MISTAKES UNTIL THE TEST IS OVER SO JUST KEEP YOUR COOL AND FINISH. IF YOU REALLY KNOW HOW TO DRIVE YOU SHOULD PASS WITH THESE TIPS. IT'S NOT THE ACTUAL DRIVING THAT THEY EVALUATE IT'S CERTAIN ASPECTS AS I HAVE MENTIONED ABOVE. GOOD LUCK ON MONDAY.

#1 most important thing...make sure your tester has their seatbelt properly fastened! If you start driving, even if they tell you to, before their belt is fastened you automatically fail.

#2...Make sure you take a few deep breaths and relax (as much as possible) before you start. (also a good idea to make sure you start with an empty bladder)

In my experience they wait until the end to tell you any mistakes. I don't know if they take you on a specfic path.

Good luck!

First thing---put your seat belt on! No radio on. Make sure all lights, wipers, etc. are working properly before going!
Use your signal any possible time to impress the instructor.
Make sure you have practiced the manuvuers until you got them down pat. Be sure to come to complete stops.
Good luck.

Well, I have plenty of suggestions.
All you have to do is listen to what your instructor says, keep your left foot on the clutch and the right foot on the accelerator or brake, and stay focused.
That's all you have to do, the rest of it happens itself...
