I have developed intermittent really bad burning pain in one of my nipples. It wakes me up at night!
I am 47 and not preggers or on any hormones.
Does anyone know what it is?

It sounds like an inflammation or irritation of some kind which could be caused from you using a new soap, new bra, started exercising, etc. or something more serious. I would make in apt. with your doc, without being seen it would be difficult to diagnose your symptoms.

might be allergic/skin reaction to soaps, or detergents, but you may want to see a doctor.

maybe it is an inflammation. but please! visit your gynecologist immediatelly... do not mess with these things. and get a mastography.
