From the sound of your question it sounds like you haven't been living there very long. I was born and raised in Jacksonville and now live in Tampa and living that close to Orlando is not that much of a big deal to me. I went to Islands of Adventure this past Sunday!

Not far from the beach, Daytona, Disney World, MGM, Universal Studios, Wild Adventures in GA, Wet-n-Wild, all those fun places. I live in Perry, FL, which isn't far from these places either, or Panama City!!

You're close enough to Orlando that you have fairly easy access to all the theme parks, yet you're far enough away to be able to escape the hysteria!

...because it is beautiful there and the climate is great for people with allergies. You can plan quick getaways to Orlando and you don't have to worry about snow like I do living in Chicago.

Why, because of Disney world? Isn't that near Daytona Beach?
