My daughter has been begging since 7 o clock this morning to go to the zoo. I told her no I had work to do.

She has since offered me the following compromises:

1. If I take her to the zoo, she'll get her sister to do my work.

2. She'll pay for her own zoo ticket with her piggy bank. (probably 3 dollars...)

3. If I take her to the zoo, she'll go to the doctor and get shots.

4. If I take her to a farm to ride horses, she'll forget the zoo.

That is sweet. I'd take her and forget about the work.

l would tell her if she cleans the toilet and does a good job you will take her to the zoo. She won't do this, but if she starts whining about the zoo again you can tell her that it is her fault that we're not going.
Good news Jen. Steamcat has made fun of gays 1 time too many. Some gay member of the Y/A team finally banned his @ss!

I say you should take her to the zoo and then take her to ride a horse. If your work can wait. When she grows up she'll remember the those times instead of " mom never had time for me, her work was more important" Have a great time!

I would figure out why she really wants to go so badly.

Is it for school? Is there an animal she really wants to see? Is her friend really pushing her to go? Did she see a commercial on TV?

If it's for school, then I would make the time and effort to go.

If it's because she's reacting to something she saw on TV, then I would reconsider taking her.

Since she has offered comprimises, it seems that she is willing to work in exchange for going to the zoo. This might be a good opportunity to teach her a lesson in working towards a goal and waiting for reward.

she'll try and try. don't reply with a "no" or ANYTHING when she asks. tell her for teh last time that you have to get some things done and you'll go the zoo another day if she behaves. from then on, just keep silent when she asks and she'll get the picture that you cant be bought on this one.
