Make sure that none of the fans are being blocked and if it still overheats take it to be cleaned out. And no it will not help but it saves battery life.

Whats the make of ur Laptop. If the Laptop he overheating and shutting down then you can buy a laptop cooler. Check is the FAN's in the laptop are working and the Holes in the plate are clean from dust.
You can open Application Manager to check if any application is using 100% CPU and handing the processor.

It would probably still do the same thing. The battery has nothing to do with it overheating. You might have a lot of dust buildup in the cooling fan, or the fan might be bad.

give it room underneath to breath, not sure what you have it on but the fan needs air to cool the thing, so a hard flat surface is best.
but then, if your laptop is cutting out from overheating you should get it fixed because one day it just wont turn back on.
Yuo should get it looked at anyway, shouldnt be cutting out.

No not much if at all. You need to get a can of compressed air and spray out the fans and vents on your computer. When dust builds up in your heat sink then air is trapped and it overheats. Good Luck HTH.

no the overheating is from the processor. you need to get a can of compressed air and blow out the laptop cooling ports. flip the laptop over and if there are any panels , big ones, unscrew them and blow from the inside out.

It will still overheat. Try using a coolpad, like the Targus Notebook cooling pad.

Probably not - try downloading a CPU temperature gauge and monitor the temp. also worth using it on a desk as opposed to lap as sometimes using it on your lap can cover the air vents causing it to overheat.
