Go here and follow the instructions on how to take ownership of the folder:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421

Make sure to checkmark the box that says replace owner on subcontainers and objects. Good Luck HTH.

Hi,

Your question is abit confusing.. What account you're unable to access? If it is your normal login account, try this below:

Reboot the PC and repeatedly press F8 before Windows loads and choose the last known good configuration and choose revert your system--using System Restore-- to a safe configuration before the installation from your accessories menu, this should fix the problem.

If it doesn't work, reboot again, press F8, Choose "Safe Mode" from the bootup options and try to login .

If that fails as well, restart again and choose "Safe Mode with command prompt." This bootup option will let you access your operating system through a direct, command-line interface.

If you're unfamiliar with command shells, ask someone more experienced for help. Microsoft offers a command-line reference for Windows XP.

Last option,If you end up reinstalling Windows, don't worry. There are methods for reinstalling that won't make you lose your important data.

Since you have upgraded from Home to Professional, the old home accounts don't, per se, exist anymore.

As for the documents...if they were saved in the "My Documents" folder...they're gone, period...unless you have a half-way decent file retrieval/recovery program.

The only other thing I can think of is the files may have been saved with a password? IF so, you need that to access the file.

Short of that, the files may have been corrupted.
