I just bought a 1988 Mercedes Benz SEL 560 and I want to know how big the rims are that I can fit on it? Do you think 20 inch rims would fit? And how much should I expect to spend? what is the price range for chrome rims?

I shall reccomend you to turn into your nearest car dealership / service station to enquire. However, i think you might also be able to find this information on the net.
20 inches don't even fit in sports cars. The maximum I think you'll be able to get is 17 or 18 inches.

This is a car designed for 15" rims, even the high performance cars of the day, like a Jaguar XJS didn't sport larger wheels. Also a lower aspect ratio tire is going to give you a terrible ride. 17" rims will give you the look you desire without ruining your car's performance, anything over 18" is probably going to make it less than drivable. So if you want a lot of show and flash that people laugh at when you take that turn into a parking lot a 1 MHP, like a pregnant woman waddling up a flight of stairs, go for it. You know exactly what I mean, too.

do not put 20 inch rims on this car. i dont care what they look like that would look retarded. go with at maximum an 18 in. not really a good type of car to put rims on either.

According to TireRack.com, you can use anywhere between 15" and 18" rims, the latter being used with an appropriately sized low profile tire to allow for clearance.

Yo.... Flex, I think you should put some 16' Giovanna Black on Black rims on yo ride. If you want a package of 4.... it'd be $500.00-$700.00 (this of course varies by dealer. Prices include tax.)
