I was on my way home from work a few nights ago and heard that Bush declared himself dictator.
I haven't heard anything about it since.
I would like to hear from anyone who knows if this is true or false .. and if so what does this mean?
CAN he do that?
What kind of process does he have to go through before its official?
Any info would be great, thanx :)

That exactly what i was thinking .. thats why the comment about him becoming dictator scared me. I'm also thinking we will not be able to get rid of Bush that easy. I think there will be another 9/11 or more serious in 2008 .. and Bush will stay where he is.

Bush Pens Dictatorship Directive, Few Notice
Bush can do anything he wants these days. These people who claim this is not happening need to stop listening to mainstream media and dig around a bit. Go and LOOK don't just wait to be told what is going on!
Not a single corporate newspaper reported the death of the Constitution; nor did Google. Not The New York Times, the Washington Post, or related corporate media source. Google Trends rates the story as “mild,” that is to say it warrants nary a blip on the news radar screen.
Another death blow to the Constitution, already long on life support, is hardly news. We now live in a dictatorship. It's not fascism when we do it. It's "the right thing" or "liberation of the downtrodden in a just war." A rose by any other name is still a rose.
“The Bush administration has released a directive called the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive. The directive released on May 9th, 2007 has gone almost unnoticed by the mainstream and alternative media. This story is as huge as Ron Paul and immigration news but no one hears of it.
In this directive, Bush declares that in the event of a ‘Catastrophic Emergency’ the President will be entrusted with leading the activities to ensure constitutional government. The language in this directive would in effect make the President a dictator in the case of such an emergency,” writes Lee Rogers for Global Research.
“The language written in the directive is disturbing because it doesn’t say that the President will work with the other branches of government equally to ensure a constitutional government is protected. It says clearly that there will be a cooperative effort among the three branches that will be coordinated by the President. If the President is coordinating these efforts it effectively puts him in charge of every branch. The language in the directive is entirely Orwellian in nature making it seem that it is a cooperative effort between all three branches but than it says that the President is in charge of the cooperative effort.”

US government fans homeland terrorism fear. Washington consensus plans for martial law, nuclear terror holocaust, behind closed doors
This is a good site for news along this line.
Just a word of warning. We all know about 911 now. We all know about binLaden being a CIA operative, as was Saddam. Both men are dead now. North American press does not print what is said all around the world and in several articles and photos, bin Laden is dead dead dead. All tapes and videos have since been proven to be fake.
This being said, America is in for a big shake up, another attack in the next few months. Remember bin Laden when you are told al Quaeda is responsible.

The 9-11 Solution -How the myth was sold- Isn't it amazing how even while the towers were burning, there were experts in the vicinity of the cameras to "witness" and make "opinions" so quickly? Very interesting little film.
The government is itching to get into Iran. You all know it. emember this when the attack comes as it will.
***Mark A. I don't know where you live, on any level. The American Constitution was killed a few months ago for the Patriot Act. The Act has since been "tightened up" and redone to further limit individual freedom and allow government greater powers.

This was signed into law by President Bush. Because of the Homeland Security Act, this opened the door for something that is against what the founding fathers intended. The Executive branch was never supposed to have this ability for the exact purpose of avoiding a(dictator, emperor, king, etc.) There is no congressional oversight on this, the only way it can be removed is by a president.

I wonder how far from being a dictator he is now. There appear to be many similarities in the behavior and processes of this administration being performed under the umbrella of "The War on Terrorism". The imprisonment of hundreds without due process, the wire tapping without warrants, the wars without justification and the billions spent to maintain them, the dozens of laws broken and twisted in the name of security and executive power, etc. et al. How far would an administration have to go to convince you that this is no longer a working republic? And don't let us forget the roles played by a congress that has set a record for the fewest days in session since 1948 and a media that has let it's will to investigate be replaced by the government news release.
P.S. Wouldn't it be great if I was dead wrong about all of this!

Lol, no, that hasn't happened. You need to have more faith in our system of government. Of course he will graciously step down in January of 2009. Although, looking at the alternatives, I really don't see anyone who thrills me as a future president. We're in deep no matter what, I'm afraid.
One note: Make sure you give just as much thought to the Reps & Senators that you vote for as the President. All positions are critical.
Edit: What you heard about was the National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive which allows the President to assume greater authority in the event of a catastrophic event.

There are certain parameters that must be met before he can declare Marshal Law. But Presidents since Washington have always had the power to declare Marshal Law and basically become a dictator.

"I told all four that there are going to be some times where we don't agree with each other, but that's OK. If this were a dictatorship, it would be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator," Bush joked.

He hasn't declared himself dictator yet but he has taken away many of your civil liberties. If he wanted to he could literally declare you a enemy combatant for any reason he wanted and put you into prison and leave you there until you die.
He doesn't need to declare himself dictator. Remember he is the decider. He is the idiot savant.

I dont know how it is on your planet, or if you were listening to Air America (short for AIRheads who hate AMERICA). It is Constitutionally not possible for anyone in the us government to declare themselves dictator. Just ask Chairthing Pelosi. She has been trying to get herself set as dictator or emperor for the last few months.
