Hell NO! I don't have a problem with people moving to USA, or speaking different languages at home, amongst friends, etc. But when you move to or even visit a foreign country you learn that language and follow that places customs. English is the primary language, and if you want to live and work in the USA you should learn to read, right, and speak the native language, not expect an entire country to change and learn a new language just for you.

Absolutely not. English is INTERNATIONAL...Spanish is not. Secondly this is America and so when they choose to immigrate her..legally or illegally they must learn the ways of American culture. Part of that is learning in English. I have also noticed that the Latins are the only people who have issues learning English..they are the only ones who complain. My grandparents came from Haiti and learned perfect English. My father came from Trinidad and he has also adapted to American culture. So no I don't think that Spanish should be the first language of choice in America..and if so than why shouldn't French, Mandarin, etc also be one of the main languages ?

I don't think we should even HAVE an official language, and recognize that we are not a country that is BASED on one type of citizen but a multitude. Why do ppl even get so mad, what does it hurt anything even if Spanish were? No one looses the right to speak English consequently. It seems very likely to me (that if we HAVE to have one) Spanish would most likely be it, and for that reason. And it sooo easy to learn!

No it shouldn't.... Our congress voted in the 1700's between English and German and English won as the language of this country... Furthermore for years people have come here and learned to speak our language, if we were to go to live in another country we would have to learn their language.. It's about time people from other countries that come here to live start to assimilate and become part of the country they have chosen, it's OK to celebrate the customs of our original homeland and teach them to our children, but we need to become AMERICAN ALL THE WAY and not expect this country to change for us we came here they didn't force us to come so why should we force them to change their language and customs for us....

No.

When I went to Mexico, I took the time and effort to learn Spanish and study their culture. I expect they do the same.
