I have the problem due to a hyperactive thyroid. Perhaps you should check medical reasons? There are a few problems that can cause cracked heel skin, and a couple are very serious.I use Dr Scholl's pedicure essential medicated cracked heel relief creme when they are painful and bleeding. When they aren't I buff them using a heel buffer, it sort of like sand paper, and I use the Pedicure Essentials dry heel creme. My heels are reasonably smooth now. Don't use either if you have diabetes, have the doctor take care of the heels.

Sure . After taking your nighttime shower/bath apply vicks vapo rub and them a pair of socks and leave on til morning.
There's the other basic things like using an exfoiliating scrub . If they are really severe I would go to a doctor . I know sometimes folks don't want to go for a skin condition but sometimes dry cracked feet are a sign of fungal infection or eczema or psoriasis .
There's also a product called bag balm in a green tin that can help used like the vicks however I've found vicks easier to find and it clears your sinuses lol.

Get foot cream, a machine that tears away dead skin, water, lotion. Whenever your outside DO NOT go around walking barefoot (if you do) because that is what helps get them cracked.Put on the foot cream every day before leaving your house, every time you take a bath scrub your feet with the sponge and that machine that takes away dead skin, the every night before you go to bed put on the lotion. And you better start doing the same with your hands or they are going to get like your heels.

Use a foot file every night before your bath or shower & apply a good moisturizer afterwards. Avon sells a good product called Cracked Heel Relief or actually any of their Foot Works products will help you out. No matter what you do or use...moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!!

it sounds kinda weird but i use the apricot scrub thats for ur face and it works wonders on ur feet!! i buy the one thats made by the drugstore (brooks/walmart/cvs) and it does the same thing as the st ives on but for $4 less per tube. if u use the scrub BEFORE u get in the shower u see better results faster so use it on dry feet and then rinse in the shower. when u go to bed put baby oil gel (u can get it at the drugstore for around$3) on ur feet and cover them with socks. ur feet will be summer ready in no time!! good luck

p.s u can use the scrub to exfoliate ur armpits too and it gives u a closer shave with less irritation...weird but true

hi i used to be a licesnsed nail specialist but am no longer doing that. i worked at a spa in florida that was very upscale and some women whom i did pedicures on had the same problem. we used a glycolic solution on their heels. like the one you would use on your face. it strip old dead skin and encourages new skin grow which is actually what is needed on your heels. i would just buy a brand from your local drug store or mall that is a glycolic product and use that. hope this helps :)

The Body Shop has some nice foot cream and its on special this week. Buy one product and get one 1/2 off. (www.thebodyshop.com).

You can also try putting vaseline on your feet and then wearing socks at night. That helps me at times.

put on a layer of petroleum jelly on the bottom of your feet every night, wear cotton socks over it. You will see results in days, i suggest that you do this for at least two weeks. Also, scrub the bottoms of your feet while you are in the shower with a pumus stone.
