Some guys say they have minor pain for a few days. Others say it is the worst pain they have ever experienced and that it goes on for months. Better figure on at least a week off from work (guys say they can't stand to wear clothes for that long) and no erections for at least a month or even two.

Better is to just leave your penis intact! Why in the world would you want to lose all that nerve-rich foreskin? And it isn't as good for your partners afterwards, either. Except for frostbite, gangrene, and cancer, penis problems can be treated without circumcision. Get a second/third/fourth opinion before letting yourself be mutilated!

See http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/abs/10.1111/j.1464-410X.2006.06685.x for the effect of circumcision on male pleasure and http://www.healthcentral.com/drdean/408/60750.html for the reduction in female ability to orgasm with circumcised men.

I got circumcised aged 25, largely for cosmetic reasons. I'd been thinking about it for a while, asked pretty much every girl I'd been out with for their opinions, and finally went ahead and got it done. At the end, it boiled down to the fact that I wanted to be circumcised - some people go in for piercings, tattoos etc - this was my concession to body modification. I prefer the way it looks, there's been no downside in terms of enjoying sex (it does change things a little - I think I last longer now, which I see as an advantage), and the ladies seem to like it. It's not the norm in my country, either. A foreskin's no problem whatsoever if somebody's hygenic, though, and I'm very anti doing it to babies. Everybody should choose for themselves. I'm glad I made the transition.

Wait until it heals! Using it too soon can lead to bleeding or infection. Ask the doctor who did the procedure. I would think that this would take at least several weeks, but I don't know the exact answer.

It is individual, but should be OK in 2 weeks time. If it worked well before, it will continue well. Indeed.

It varies from person to person. A few weeks is the norm.

Will he be able to work? That's up to you; depends on your level on being able to handle things.

Of course, that is providing none of the risks occur, then it should be able to work.
