YES!!!
You have to understand that "the company" owns the computer and all the resources such as internet access.
Depending on the size of the company, and/or how much budget they allocate to overall computer resources, they may have a person that monitors general internet activity and email sent or received.
Legally they have that right because you are using their computer resources. Many companies also backup everything that was done on all company computers for that day. That includes Outlook and Yahoo email. In fact it may include all keystrokes!!!
The company (defense electronics) I worked for before I retired had backups for every single day. That means that if you lost some document you created and accidently deleted they can easily recover it for you.
Additionally, they have recorded evidence of all your computer activity and can use it as evidence if they decided to terminate you or prosecute you for unauthorized use of the companies computers.
Those are the facts.
Use of company computer resources for an occasional email, etc. is not normally a problem. However, abusive misuse of their computer resources is. So be wise about what you do on the company computers.
Hope this helps.

They have the right to review anything you do on a company computer, so if you open a personal email from yahoo, they can see it, if they choice to review that stuff. So if you don't want a company to read your personal things don't open them at work. They use this system to make sure people are working and not playing around at work all day!

If they have the proper measures in place they can see anything you do. Most companies don't have those measures but some do. Spectorsoft is one app a lot of businesses use that can capture screen shots, and has a keylogger. I imagine if they catch you that you will get a warning the first time if they give you a warning then stop otherwise they either can't see you or don't care. Good Luck HTH.

I work as an IT manager and I can see everything if/when I wan to. I think that you are safe because I don't have time or the will to look who is doing what all bloody day. I do it only if HR suspects something and asks me to "investigate" for them
Good luck with your new job

They can monitor anything you do on your computer. If your company has an internet policy forbidding personal internet usage at work they will especially look for personal items.
