I'm reading it right now. It's a great book once you get into it. The intro by Christopher Tolkien is a little dry, but the story itself is really good and you get some of the roots behind characters from LOTR. A lot of it takes place with the elves that are the forefathers of Elrond and Galadriel.

No, and given that they seem to publish everything he ever scribbled, down to his laundry lists in an effort to cash in on LOTR, I'm in no hurry to!

I'm a huge fan boy of JRR, but I think the publishers are having a laugh now - seriously; what they try and pass off as Tolkien's 'unpublished' books are scraps and drafts padded out by Christopher Tolkien. Everything after the Silmarillion falls into that category, I'm afraid!
