Well that's not a medical term, so there's not one sure answer for that. I think average age in america is 77, so you could use that, or you could say that if someone died of heart failure, or if they are old and die of just a whole bunch of things that older people struggle with...but there is not going to be one solid sure answer to this question because it is not a scientific measured term, as you can see from the array of answers already.

People who die after about 65 to 70 actually die of side effects of diseases they have acquired in life.
True, give up and quit, old age is usually late 80s or 90's. The body just wears out. Or the person is to worn out from life that they just give up.

When you've died of old age, it's because you have died with no other causes.....just that your body has given up.....that would be different for everyone!

The medical term is "Died of natural causes". So when a person is old and dies of "natural causes", I guess that's dying of old age.
