Is it copper grease or something else?

Ideally I want grease in a tub which you can apply to the hinges by hand... cause I can see that's been used before.... not any spray type.

Where would I buy the grease from too please?

White lithium grease works very well for this. The car has a long tube that can be attached to allow you to aim the grease accurately (less mess) and the grease has a higher melting point so it stays in place. Plus if you get some on you it cleans up easier. Hope this helps :)

Get in your car and go to the other parts and buy a can of WD-40 and spray that on the hinges and that should solve the squeaking. I would never put bacon grease on my door though use some common sense. If it comes to it use some white lithium grease on it which can be purchased in any hardware store.

Don't use WD40, it's not a grease. Just a water dispersant and mild oil, and copper slip is not a grease, it's an anti sieze compound that you use on screws and bolts to ensure they don't sieze up.

Just use good old common lithium grease, available in any car or DIY store.

White lithium grease,
no damage to paint, unlike WD-40, not that great, and not waterproof.

This is the same stuff that comes stock on the hinge.

castrol multi-purpose grease
or lubricating grease
comes in a tube and a tub
and halfords or auto stores
allover the country sell greases
of different types and uses

Also i find that wd40 is good for freeing seized parts
and slowing rust in its tracks but it tends to dry too quickly after its initial application and needs regular resprays
quite often for it to be as effective as what a multi purpose oil or a muli-use grease lubricant is

I'd say white lithium grease, that's standard. You can also use chain lube, designed for bikes, it sprays on & penetrates as a liquid, then sets as a grease.

Lithium grease is what works the best but not sure you can get it in anything but spray

my advice is don't use grease at all. use clean engine oil. grease just sits there and attracts dirt. oil actually works its way into the hinge, offering more lubrication and protection...
