I have a 98 ford ranger with the trouble code p1309 misfire and under that it said monitor disabled. What do I need to do to correct this?

this is why you need to reset the codes and run a live data test its the only way to really determan the problem

a code reader wont help you on this one

its time to take it in to a pro

or you can guess and start swapping parts it may cost you more or you may get lucky on your first guess

i personally woulg change plugs and wires first thain retest it

here is the info i found for it.

P1309 - Misfire Monitor Disabled.

Causes.
Camshaft position sensor,,Power train control modual,, ETC sensor,maf sensor,CKP sensors

Most likely something to do with your camshaft position sensor.

Have the timming checked.
