You don't need to throw harder, you need to have good control. If you don't have the natural ability to throw hard you can do just as well if you can locate your pitches.

The answer is in efficiency of motion. Efficient mechanics are the best way to find your maximum velocity. There's no real way to increase your efficiency (eliminating wasted movement and focusing your delivery and drive-line) by reading. You'll need a pitching coach or an amazing understanding of the human body and a great ability to translate what you read into the physical world. You will need to practice these mechanics until they become your natural motion (muscle memory).
To go along with these mechanics, you'd be best served to learn about the human body, how it's put together, and what parts of an inefficient delivery lead to injury.
Once you've developed an efficient delivery and are reaching something close to your maximum velocity, you can concentrate on increasing your maximum velocity. There are a variety of ways to do this, but core training and functional strength training will give you the best results (try googling those terms for more help).
The better your mechanics are, the better results you'll get from strength training. I've seen a lot of really strong guys (NCAA baseball players) in my day that couldn't hit 80 mph from a mound.

don't take roids all you have to do is keep practicing and working out then u get a pitching thing that tells you how fast you pitch and you have to work on your accuracy if you really wanna be good at pitching work out and keep practicing.

To pitch balls fast you need a strong arm and to build that, practice long-distance throws. It would help strengthen you arm, but don't over-practice, you might hurt yourself.

it somewhat is likely a timing situation. you're used to having to swing particularly speedy after the pitcher released the ball decrease back contained in the day. yet another achieveable situation is the countless arc of the ball as now it somewhat is becoming and dropping extra heavily than in the previous. attempt to hold off for slightly longer to make extra powerful touch as you're swinging in the previous the ball meets you on the plate.

Plyometrics are probably the best way to increase your velocity. It won't give you brute strength like lifting weights will, but it will increase your explosiveness. Strengthening your legs will help also. Here's more on plyometrics if your interested. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/plyometrics...
