with my first child my back waters went so i wasnt sure if they had gone or not as i was only damp now an then, and with my second i had my waters broken, so i have never known what its like for them to go properly, i was just curious if they could go before u dilate cause how would they come out if the cervix is shut?

My waters broke on the thursday morning (one month early)
but i didnt start dilating until saturday evening, it then happened really fast.

I asked my doctor this yesterday, of course your water can break at any given time..dialated or not. but the chances of it breaking with your not dialated is very very slim.

yes mine broke at 3am and i didnt start dialating till 9am
