1. Descriptions of chemical reactions:
i) Write a word eqation for the reaction
ii) With the aid of a valency table, write the correct chemical formula for each substance in the equation
iii) Balance the euqation by placing coeffients(number) in front of the formulae.
a>- Magnesium cabonate when heated forms magnesium oxide and carbon dioxide.
b>- Sulfur is burnt in oxyfgen to produce sulfur dioxide.
c>- Methane (CH4) is burnt in oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water.
d>- Silver metal is reacted with gold nitrate to produce gold metal and silver nitrate.
e>- Aluminium metal dissolves in hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen gas and aluminium chloride.
f>- Barium chloride and sodium sulfate solutions are mixed producing a white barium sulfate prexitate in a sodium chloride solution.
g>- Sulfuric acid is neutralised by sodium hydroxide to form sodium sulfate and water.
h>- Hydrochloric acid reacts with sodium bicarbonate to produce sodium chloride, water and carbon dioxide.
