1. Descriptions of chemical reactions:
i) Write a word eqation for the reaction
ii) With the aid of a valency table, write the correct chemical formula for each substance in the equation
iii) Balance the euqation by placing coeffients(number) in front of the formulae.

a>- Magnesium cabonate when heated forms magnesium oxide and carbon dioxide.
b>- Sulfur is burnt in oxyfgen to produce sulfur dioxide.
c>- Methane (CH4) is burnt in oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water.
d>- Silver metal is reacted with gold nitrate to produce gold metal and silver nitrate.
e>- Aluminium metal dissolves in hydrochloric acid to produce hydrogen gas and aluminium chloride.
f>- Barium chloride and sodium sulfate solutions are mixed producing a white barium sulfate prexitate in a sodium chloride solution.
g>- Sulfuric acid is neutralised by sodium hydroxide to form sodium sulfate and water.
h>- Hydrochloric acid reacts with sodium bicarbonate to produce sodium chloride, water and carbon dioxide.

d) 3 Ag + Au(NO3)3 -> 3 AgNO3 + Au

e) 2 Al + 6 HCl -> 2 AlCl3 + 3 H2

f) BaCl2 + Na2SO4 -> BaSO4 + 2 NaCl

g) H2SO4 + 2 NaOH -> Na2SO4 + 2H2O

h) HCl + NaHCO3 -> NaCl + CO2 + H2O
