hey ppl..plz help me with how to configure my modem in linux..i got red hat linux 9..ma modems motorola sm56..
plz help me guys..

Red Hat 9 is older than dirt. Try installing the latest distro, called Fedora Core, I think.

New Linux distros sense and automatically configure most hardware during the installation.

The one I use and recommend is Kubuntu:

You can run it as a "Live CD" FIRST to confirm that it finds everything before you actually install it on your hard drive.
